September 18, 2014:
On January 8, 2014, the Supreme Court of the State of Washington agreed to hear Scrivener v. Clark College, an appeal of an egregious Summary Judgment ruling in an age discrimination case. Following Ms. McCulloch's oral argument in March of 2014, the Supreme Court filed an opinion, penned by Justice Charles K. Wiggins, overturning the summary judgment and helping clarify the longstanding McDonnel Douglas standard, a step forward in protecting the rights of older employees throughout the State of Washington.

May 19, 2014:
Today, Oregon has taken a huge step forward in our fight against discrimination; The Honorable Michael J. McShane of the United States District Court has ruled Oregon's same-sex marriage ban unconstitutional. 

"I know that many suggest we are going down a slippery slope that will have no moral boundaries," writes Judge McShane, in his opinion published today, "To those who truly harbor such fears, I can only say this: Let us look less to the sky to see what might fall; rather, let us look to each other ... and rise."
